Drew {Urbana Senior Photographer}

Drew’s mom and I met when she took my Learning to Click class. I was so happy when she contacted me to do Drew’s senior pictures. He was a lot of fun and definitely had his own ideas about how this should go. Here are a few of my favorites.

Is “Good Enough” really good enough?

I recently read an article about being good enough. It spoke about this as though it’s a bad thing. And really, it is. Who wants to be just good enough? Do you want to get grades that are just good enough to pass your class? Maybe you’re ok with that. What about sports? Want to be just good enough to not totally get slaughtered?

Maybe being just good enough isn’t enough for you at all. Maybe you have aspirations for college and you need to have excellent grades. Maybe you’d love to win the state championship and good enough, just isn’t enough.

Professional portraits are expensive. Many people settle. You’ve got a friend who likes to play around in photography. And, really, that’s “good enough” for your senior pictures. Really? Is it? You’re only a senior once. You will never graduate high school again. You’ll never be this filled with excitement and anticipation as you prepare to step out into the world, taking your first steps as an adult. Mom and Dad, this is likely the last professional portrait you’ll have of your son or daughter until they get married! Do you really want to settle for “good enough?”

It’s important to me that high school seniors have amazing portraits to mark this huge step in their lives. Yes, I have a business to run, but I only started this business because of my passion and love for capturing moments in lives. I want to help you have these last few moments while you still have your baby at home with you. In fact, I’d love to include mom in a shot or two with her senior!

If you think you can’t afford exceptional professional portraits for your senior, you’re wrong. You can’t afford to NOT have quality portraits done. Give me a call or shoot me an email. We will find a way to make the portraits you need affordable. Because it’s really that important. And “good enough” simply isn’t good enough.

Maia and “The Prom Dress”

I put out a model call for someone in a prom dress. I waited and waited for someone to respond, but never heard from anyone. Then I took vacation to go visit my family. My sister told me we were doing some of my niece Maia’s senior pictures in the prom dress. Yee Haw!! I had seen it a little bit in snap shots on Facebook, so I was excited to do this. Plus, it took care of my prom dress needs. I really wanted more of a Trash the Dress, but after paying $400 for a dress, my sis was NOT up for that! I don’t blame her. And it’s just fine. I LOVE what we got. In fact, most of my favorite shots from this session are in that dress.

Deserving Senior

A while back, I posted a call for deserving senior stories. As soon as I read Alli’s story, I knew she had won. I won’t go in to details, but she’s had a pretty rough life. However, to meet her, you would never know it. She is the sweetest girl I’ve ever met. And a bonus for me and my portfolio, this girl is GORGEOUS!!! Check out those eyes! I was so happy to be able to do this session and it was fun to try out some locations that I’d never been to before.

I hope you love your pictures as much as I do, Alli!
