Red Thread Sessions

“An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.” – Ancient Chinese Proverb

This is the basis for Red Thread Sessions. This is an organization of volunteer photographers who donate their time and talent to photograph adoptive families. I am one of these volunteer photographers. Adoption is something that is very close to my heart. It’s a special family who can welcome a child into their home and love them and raise them as their own. Adoption, whether private or agency, domestic or international, is very expensive. Red Thread Sessions provides a way for adoptive families to be able to afford custom photography for their growing families.

The organization requires it’s volunteers to provide your session at no cost to you, so all session fees are waived. In addition, I offer 3 files of your choosing on disc with a print release and a 50% discount on a la carte prices.

There are several kinds of sessions available. Coming home sessions are great for international adoptions. I will be at the airport with the rest of your friends and family, and photograph your new family as you arrive home and everyone meets your new addition for the first time. Birth photography sessions are perfect for domestic, open adoptions. It’s a great way to celebrate the gift the birth mom is giving both you and your child. Capturing the moment when you newborn baby is placed in your arms, and the relationship you will forever share with the birth mom….these are the moments I live for. Family sessions are the third way to celebrate your new family. This is just a regular family portrait session that provides you with images you can print and frame in your home.

Adoptive families are elegible for one of these sessions anytime leading up to the adoption and up to 6 months following. Visit Red Thread Sessions for more information and then contact me to schedule your session!
